Utdanning og sport anlegg

The Alterswil Multi-Purpose Building is a significant addition to the municipality of Alterswil, providing essential facilities for educational, sports, and community events. The building comprises two primary sections: a two-storey school wing and a triple gymnasium. The school wing features classrooms and group rooms, constructed with timber-concrete composite floors and visibly screwed three-layer interior wall panels. The classrooms are fitted with suspended ceilings to ensure optimal sound insulation.

33m limtrebjelker støtter gymsalen

The triple gymnasium is supported by eleven glulam trusses, each measuring 33 meters in length, contributing to the building's robust structure. Prefabricated roof elements, spanning 17 meters long, were manufactured in Rümlang. The building envelope is made of vertical, double-glazed timber cladding with a rear-ventilated façade to prevent heat accumulation.

Koordinering og lokal trebruk

Significant coordination efforts were required for this project, including planning the factory production of prefabricated elements and synchronizing various trades for the timber-concrete composite ceiling and other structural components. The construction utilized approximately 850 cubic meters of locally sourced timber, processed nearby, underlining the project's commitment to sustainability.

Byggetid og kostnad

Construction on the Alterswil Multi-Purpose Building began in June 2021 and was completed by December 2022. The project, valued at 2.4 million USD, was commissioned by Gemeinde Tafers and involved collaboration with bauzeit architekten GmbH and neue Holzbau. The careful selection of local materials and innovative construction techniques make this building a notable example of sustainable development in the region.
