374 studentlägenheter nära campus

The Colonia 2 project involves the construction of 374 student apartments distributed across seven buildings near the university campus in Linköping. This development is designed to provide attractive and convenient housing options for students, addressing the growing demand for student accommodations in the area. The project is planned as a total contract valued at 390 million SEK, reflecting its large scale and significance.

BetonmastHæhre Stockholm huvudentreprenör

BetonmastHæhre Stockholm is the main contractor responsible for executing the project under a totalentreprise agreement with Grön Bostad Intellektet AB, the client. ByggVesta Development acts as the client’s representative, closely collaborating with Betonmast throughout planning and construction. BetonmastHæhre Stockholm, established in 2017, is undertaking its largest contract to date with Colonia 2, leveraging its growing presence in Sweden including major projects in Göteborg, Stockholm, and expanding into Malmö.

Byggstart kring slutet av 2018

The construction timeline is set for approximately 30 months, with production scheduled to begin toward the end of 2018. Preliminary work such as detailed project planning and design has already begun. The proximity of the buildings to the campus enhances the project’s value proposition for students, facilitating a convenient and vibrant living environment.

Ökar studentbostäder och sysselsättning

From a societal perspective, Colonia 2 will contribute significantly by expanding the supply of affordable and accessible student housing, alleviating local accommodation shortages and supporting Linköping’s student population growth. The large-scale nature of this project also stimulates local economic activity through construction employment and subsequent tenancy.

Fokus på tid, kostnad och samordning

While specific project risks are not detailed, standard construction challenges such as adhering to timelines, managing costs within the 390 million SEK budget, and coordinating among stakeholders will be important to monitor given the scope and complexity of building seven multi-unit residential structures in a campus-adjacent urban setting.
