100,000 m² Mixed-Use Development

The La Petite-Prairie District Development in Nyon, Switzerland, overseen by Implenia, focuses on transforming 100,000 square meters of decommissioned agricultural land into a mixed-use urban area. After 15 years of deliberation and negotiation with developers and investors, the project has made significant progress. It aims to create a new district that accommodates both housing and office spaces, contributing to the urban expansion of north Nyon.

Phase 1: Five Key Buildings

The first phase of construction, managed by Implenia in coordination with Construction Perret and Losinger, involves the simultaneous construction of five buildings: The Columns, The Aqueduct, The Amphitheatre, The Athenaeum, and The Pont du Gard. These buildings will include 150 housing units, divided into 77 condominiums, 53 rental flats, and 20 furnished rental apartments, along with 8,000 square meters of office space. The residential buildings are named after Roman structures, blending historical references with modern living standards.

Unique Features of Each Building

Each building within the project has unique features and specifications. Les Colonnes, for instance, comprises 36 Minergie-certified apartments over five floors, equipped with modern amenities including sliding glass windows, electrically operated blinds, and room thermostats. It also features an underground parking lot and a centralized gas boiler system. The Aqueduct contains a mix of 41 owner-occupied and 24 rental flats, adhering to Minergie standards, with a gas heating system. The Amphitheatre is dedicated solely to office space, offering 3,400 square meters and clad in Alucobond material. The Athenaeum and The Pont du Gard share a similar design aesthetic, with the Athenaeum noted for its projecting upper floors.

Distinct Burgundy Red Aesthetics

One of the notable architectural features across the buildings, particularly prominent in Les Colonnes, is the extensive use of burgundy red, adding a distinct visual identity to the project. The project also meets high environmental standards, aligning with Minergie certification, which ensures energy efficiency and comfort.

Completion After Delays (2013-2016)

Initial construction work started in June 2013, and the project was completed in June 2016, after overcoming significant delays and challenges. The design team included Archi SA - Carouge and De Giuli & Portier architectes sa - Onex, with a total building volume of 129,519,749 cubic meters. Implenia also manages the common areas for all co-owners and interfaces with municipal projects connected to the neighborhood, ensuring seamless integration with ongoing urban developments.
