Ny medisinsk teknologibygning

The FUJIREBIO Research and Innovation Building is a new medical technology facility being constructed in Mölndal as part of the GoCo Health Innovation City, a major research and innovation cluster adjacent to AstraZeneca's establishment. The building serves as the first phase of this cluster, which is expected to grow to accommodate approximately 7,000 employees over the next eight years, significantly boosting regional health and medical technology collaboration and development.

Moderne bygg for kreftforskning

The building itself is a five-story structure covering roughly 7,800 to 8,000 square meters, designed to accommodate offices, research, development, and production facilities for FUJIREBIO's cancer diagnostic operations. It will support around 100 employees focused on advancing test kits and related technologies in cancer diagnostics. The construction uses concrete pile foundations reaching solid ground, a steel frame with HDF floor slabs, masonry on the ground floor, and sandwich panels from the second to fifth floors, creating a modern, stable environment tailored to the technical demands of medical research and production.

Lokalt entreprenørfirma leder prosjektet

BRA Bygg, a subsidiary of Veidekke based in Gothenburg, is the main contractor responsible for the total construction project under a contract valued at approximately SEK 185 million. The company emphasizes local expertise and collaboration and aims to complete the building by summer 2021 to enable FUJIREBIO to begin operations promptly. GoCo Health Innovation City is owned by Next Step Group and Vectura Fastigheter, with Balder acquiring a portion of the shares in Next Step Group in late summer 2020.

Styrker helseteknologisk innovasjon

This project carries significant societal benefits by fostering a cutting-edge research environment focused on cancer diagnostics, which is expected to create new job opportunities and support innovation in health technologies in the region. It anchors the expansion of the GoCo Health Innovation City cluster, which will enhance collaboration among healthcare and life sciences companies and research institutions.

Robuste byggemetoder og risikohåndtering

Although specific environmental sustainability measures and risk factors are not detailed in the available information, the construction emphasizes modern, durable building techniques suited for specialized medical operations. The timely completion of the building is critical to meeting project goals, and the involvement of an experienced contractor like BRA Bygg mitigates typical construction risks.
