Totalentreprise for midlertidig skole

Implenia acted as the general contractor on behalf of the Canton of Ticino to construct a temporary school facility for Liceo cantonale di Lugano 2 in Viganello. The building comprises classrooms, specialized rooms, a teachers' lounge, and auxiliary spaces, allowing uninterrupted school operations during renovation of the existing building. Implenia managed the entire process as a single point of contact, from planning and design coordination to prefabrication and turnkey handover.

Stram tidsplan med parallell bygging

The project was characterized by a tight timeline, with construction starting in September 2022 and finishing by June 2023, to ensure occupancy at the start of the new school year. To meet this schedule, planning, module prefabrication in the factory, foundation work, and utility installation on-site proceeded simultaneously. The modular units were rapidly assembled with minimal disruption to the adjacent ongoing school activities. Coordination between architects, HVAC, electrical, civil engineers, and building physics experts was fundamental to achieving high standards for indoor climate, acoustics, and energy efficiency in this temporary structure.

Minergie-standard og solcellepaneler

The building meets the stringent Minergie energy standard and includes photovoltaic panels on the roofs to generate part of its electricity onsite, creating a comfortable and sustainable learning environment. The modules are designed for reuse and can be dismantled and relocated after their temporary use, preserving materials and embodied energy and minimizing waste. This approach aligns with environmentally responsible construction practices.

Prefabrikkert modulbygging med partnerskap

The prefabrication of the modules was carried out in partnership with DM Bau AG. Implenia Svizzera SA took overall responsibility for cost control, scheduling, and quality assurance, coordinating all parties including architect Charles De Ry Architettura SA and specialized planners for HVACS, electrical, civil engineering, and building physics. The project demonstrates how modular construction can provide fast, resource-efficient, and high-quality school space solutions for public authorities.

20 mill. CHF og tidsmessig fullføring

With a construction volume valued at approximately 20 million CHF and successful on-schedule completion within nine months, the project underscores the advantages of industrialized modular building techniques in public sector infrastructure development.
